CleanSweep for RAPID: Cleanliness for Precision Assembly

Cleanliness is critical in modern manufacturing, especially for precision tightening applications like electric drives, control systems, and high-performance assemblies.

Metal particles generated during tightening can contaminate surfaces, affect reliability, and increase rework. That’s why we developed the CleanSweep option for the RAPID screw feeding system — a smart solution to ensure consistent assembly cleanliness right in the tightening process.

Why CleanSweep for RAPID? 

During screw tightening, microscopic metal dust forms when the screw thread cuts into the component. To prevent this contamination, customers traditionally add post-assembly cleaning or washing steps, which increases cycle time and cost.
CleanSweep for RAPID eliminates that extra process by integrating ionized air and vacuum extraction directly into the tightening station of your RAPID screw feeding system.

How it works?

The CleanSweep option for RAPID uses a combination of:

• Ionized air to loosen and neutralize metal particles
• Vacuum extraction to remove them efficiently from the tightening area

Our tests show that CleanSweep on RAPID delivers excellent results on larger parts (≥ 25–50 mm) and can fully eliminate particles larger than 200 μm, meeting the strict requirements of quality-driven customers in industrial screw feeding environments.

Proven cleanliness Performance 

CleanSweep for RAPID screw feeding systems achieved cleanliness level F5 according to VDA 19.1 / ISO 16232 standards. Because dust generation depends on material type, we recommend customers send sample parts and screws for evaluation when a guaranteed cleanliness level is required.
